Mrs. Olagboye Nurat, Council Treasurer, Lagos Island East LCDA

Members of National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area branch have paid a courtesy visit to their former boss, Mrs. Olagboye Omobolanle Nurat, the current Council Treasurer at Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Lagos.

Led by the NULGE branch Chairman, Snr. Comrade Olushola Bashorun, the visit was in appreciation of the position of the professional Accountant at their last NULGE elections in support of a level playground for all staff members and groups aspiring for positions in the Council Union.

According to the NULGE (branch) Secretary, Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Snr. Comrade Wale Adegboye, “our courtesy visit to the financial guru, an accountant per excellence, a financial analyst and doyen of accounting in Lagos Island East LCDA is in appreciation of her efforts in the electioneering process that brought the Basho led administration to power in Mosan-Okunola LCDA”.

“As the Council Treasurer, she was the only member of the management that stood for justice and equity. She advised that the management team should allow all contestants from “both parties to test their popularity at the polls because everyone was a staff before he or she became a member of NULGE”, he said.

The Council Treasurer who led the NULGE’s entourage to pay homage to the Council Manager, Mrs. Usman Folashade was full of gratitude for the show of love exhibited by her former Union. In her words, “I only felt then that the right thing must be done for us to have peace and harmony at Council Area. From experience, the management shouldn’t be seen or identified with one group against the other. They are all staff members that must enjoy the sense of belonging in the business of the union”.

Olagboye however admonished everyone to always stand up for what is just and right in all of our dealings because it is a panacea to peaceful coexistence.
